Shard Mining
Shard Mining are forth type of upgrades unlocked in CIFI - Cell: Idle Factory Incremental. They are located in 
Upgrade Console
Shard Mining are unlocked on 
The Demeter purchase.
Inside the Shard Mining menu you will find 2 other submenus:
Operations Overview- Shard Milestones
Shard Mining affect most of the game mechanics through the Shard Milestones upgrades, including 
Cells,
Mod Points, 
Shards, 
Research Points, 
Academy Points, 
Ticks speed, 
Generators and more.
Shard Mining Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Shard Mining is happening in Operations Overview automatically. Basically you get Shards every specific amount of ticks completed. Operations are divided in 6 phases and have a cooldown phase. Although Operations menu is mostly informational, since you can upgrade them in various other areas (mostly 
Loop Mods).
You can spend your Shards in the Shard Milestones menu. Each milestone have 100 levels and based on rarity it can have additional effects unlocked upon reaching specific milestone level. As you buy more milestone levels you will unlock new milestones.
CIFI Shard Mining Tips[edit | edit source]
- Shard Milestones are very powerful, they can help you to progress way faster
- Early game try to focus on Mod Points and Shards upgrades in the Shard Milestones, that will speed up your growth drastically
- Make sure to check Shard Milestones before doing Loop Reset, specifically on the longer runs, when you earn a higher maximum amount of Shards and they will reset upon Loop Resets.
- Sometimes its a good idea to make longer runs to facilitate Operations buildup and get more Shard Milestones upgrades
